On a subject related to the previous post (Vehicle Dynamics), here is how I am thinking of trying to impliment the terrain maps built from real road data.  I am going to try to build some of these from GPS .gpx or .tcx files whenever I have time.  Probably in MATLAB, but maybe in C for speed and excitement.   Fair warning, these are my actual back of the envelope scribbles, so I would be very impressed with myself if a single word was spelled right.   I thought it would be interesting to post some “before” pictures instead of just “afters”.
